Hyett Education Safeguarding Policy

Hyett Education is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and young people in our workshops, lessons, and School Holiday Clubs across the UK. Our Safeguarding Policy, aligned with Keeping Children Safe in Education, outlines our robust procedures for protecting children and responding to concerns.

Key Points:

  • Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs): Antony Hyett (077155 79033) and Phillipa Hyett (07930536842) oversee safeguarding, with Level 3 training every 2-3 years and annual Level 1 training for all staff.

  • Reporting Concerns: Staff report safeguarding issues to the school’s DSL during term time or Hyett Education’s DSL during holiday clubs/non-school settings. Concerns are documented and acted upon immediately.

  • Safe Recruitment: All staff and volunteers undergo enhanced DBS checks and reference verification to ensure suitability for working with children.

  • Training: All staff and volunteers receive regular safeguarding training, including Level 1 for new joiners during induction.

  • Holiday Clubs: Staff have access to local authority safeguarding contacts for prompt action during clubs.

  • Photography: Photos of children are taken only with parental/school consent, using designated devices, and personal mobile phones are prohibited for photography of children.

  • Confidentiality: Safeguarding information is shared on a need-to-know basis and stored securely.

  • Review: The policy is reviewed annually (next review: 24/6/2026) or as legislation changes.
