What's in every risk assessment
Standard content
1Equipment and materials
Battery-powered equipment, tools, construction resources, and any consumables are assessed for age-appropriate handling, PAT-testing where applicable, and storage during the session.
2Activity and movement
Hands-on construction, flight or driving zones for drones and robots, and collaborative working patterns are assessed for safe pupil movement, group sizes, and supervision ratios.
3Room layout and setup
Table arrangements, clear pathways, power access, and zone boundaries are specified for typical classroom, hall, and studio setups. We adjust on arrival if the space requires it.
4Emergency procedures
First aid, fire evacuation, electrical faults, and incident reporting follow the host school procedures. Our instructors are briefed on sign-in protocols and nominated first aiders on arrival.

Our process
How we keep risk assessments current
1Reviewed annually
Every workshop risk assessment is formally reviewed once a year by a qualified teacher and updated to reflect changes in equipment, pupil activity patterns, and national guidance.
2Checked before each delivery
The delivering instructor reviews the risk assessment as part of pre-visit preparation and adjusts for any school-specific factors flagged during booking.
3Supplied with booking confirmation
Once your booking is confirmed, the relevant risk assessment is attached to your confirmation email and is also accessible through the school portal alongside your insurance certificate.
4Reviewed on site if needed
If the delivery space differs materially from a standard classroom or hall, our instructor carries out a short on-site review and agrees any adjustments with your attending staff member before the session begins.
