What is Tech Tigers?
Tech Tigers is our dedicated STEM club brand. While Hyett Education delivers workshops in schools during the school day, Tech Tigers is how we bring the same quality of hands-on STEM experiences to children outside of school hours. That means after-school clubs during term time and holiday clubs during the breaks.
Each Tech Tigers session is delivered by the assigned Hyett Education instructor using the same professional-grade equipment we take into schools across the country. Every Hyett Education instructor holds an enhanced DBS certificate and is registered on the DBS Update Service.
What Do Children Do at Tech Tigers?
Each session focuses on a different STEM activity, keeping things fresh and giving children the chance to explore a wide range of skills. Activities include:
- LEGO Robotics and Programming – build and program robots to complete challenges, learning coding logic and engineering principles along the way
- Coding Challenges – solve puzzles and create projects using block-based and text-based programming languages
- Digital Art and Music – create digital artwork and compose music using creative software and hardware
- Minecraft Education – use Minecraft as a learning tool, tackling structured STEM challenges in a familiar environment
- Stop-Motion Animation – plan, build and film stop-motion animated shorts using professional equipment
- Construction and Engineering – design and build structures, bridges and machines, testing them to destruction
- Maths Puzzles and Games – tackle mathematical challenges through hands-on puzzles, logic games and team competitions
- Science Experiments – get stuck into practical science with experiments that bring key concepts to life
After-School Clubs
Tech Tigers after-school clubs run during term time, typically one day per week. Schools can partner with us to host a Tech Tigers club on their premises. Hyett Education provides the assigned instructor, the agreed activity plan and the specialist activity equipment and materials stated for the club. The host school provides the agreed suitable room, tables, chairs, power and any required connectivity, and retains its normal safeguarding and site duties. Responsibilities for registration, parent communications and collection arrangements are agreed before the club starts.
If your school is interested in hosting a Tech Tigers after-school club, get in touch and we will discuss availability, pricing and how it all works.
Holiday Clubs
During school holidays, Tech Tigers runs multi-day STEM clubs where children can spend full or half days immersed in hands-on activities. Holiday clubs currently run at St Dominic's Grammar School in Brewood, Staffordshire. We're working on more venues.
If you would like Tech Tigers holiday clubs at a different venue or location, Contact us to discuss the possibilities. New venues are subject to suitable premises and current availability.
