Engineering and Science Sessions

Build it. Test it. Break it. Try again. Our engineering and science sessions let your child get hands-on with real challenges.

Tech Tigers engineering and science sessions cover three core activities: Construction and Engineering, Maths Puzzles and Games, and Science Experiments. Children design and build structures, solve mathematical challenges through hands-on activities, and run practical science experiments with proper equipment. These sessions suit children who love building, problem-solving, and getting stuck into things.

What Your Child Will Do

Engineering and Science Activities

Construction and Engineering

Children design and build structures, bridges, towers, and machines using construction kits and everyday materials. Then they test them: how much weight can the bridge hold? How tall can the tower get before it falls? The cycle of design, build, test, and improve mirrors real engineering practice.

Maths Puzzles and Games

Mathematical challenges presented as hands-on puzzles, logic games, and team competitions. Children solve problems using physical manipulatives, not worksheets. It makes maths tangible and competitive in a way that changes how children feel about the subject.

Science Experiments

Practical, hands-on science experiments using proper equipment. Children investigate real scientific questions, make predictions, test them, and record what happens. This is not a worksheet about the water cycle. It is mixing chemicals, building circuits, and watching reactions happen.

Age Suitability

Engineering challenges and science experiments are adapted for all ages in the 5 to 12 range. Younger children use larger construction kits and simpler experiments. Older children tackle more complex designs and follow proper experimental methods. Maths puzzles are differentiated by difficulty.

Equipment

Sessions use professional construction kits, engineering challenge materials, science experiment kits with proper lab equipment (scaled for children), mathematical manipulatives, and measuring tools. All materials are provided.

Common Questions

Engineering and Science FAQs

Are the science experiments safe?+

Yes. All experiments are risk-assessed and age-appropriate. Children use proper equipment but under close supervision from a DBS-checked instructor. We follow school science safety guidelines.

What kind of engineering challenges do children do?+

Bridge building, tower construction, vehicle design, catapult engineering, and structural testing. Each challenge has a clear objective and a testing phase. Children love the moment when they see whether their design works.

Do maths sessions just feel like school?+

No. The maths in Tech Tigers sessions is presented as puzzles, games, and physical challenges, not textbook exercises. Children are solving problems, but the format is competitive and hands-on. Many children who say they dislike maths enjoy these sessions.
