Enhanced DBS Checks
Every Hyett Education instructor holds an enhanced DBS certificate and is registered on the DBS Update Service, meaning their clearance is continuously monitored. Your instructor's DBS details are shared in your secure booking portal once your booking is made. Instructors do not have unsupervised access to children.
Staff Identification
All Hyett Education staff carry photo ID and wear branded uniform when visiting schools. Staff will sign in at reception on arrival and follow all school visitor protocols.
Supervision
A member of school staff must remain present at all times during workshop sessions. Hyett Education instructors will never be left alone with students. This is a non-negotiable requirement of our safeguarding policy.
Behaviour Management
We follow positive behaviour management approaches. If a significant behaviour concern arises, we will immediately refer to the attending school staff member. We do not administer sanctions or physical restraint under any circumstances.
SEND & SEMH
We welcome pupils with a range of abilities and needs. Schools should share relevant SEND or SEMH information before delivery so we can agree reasonable, cohort-specific adjustments for the booked activity. Suitability, staffing and differentiation are confirmed with the school rather than assumed for every workshop.
Risk Assessments
Hyett Education provides the activity risk assessment for the booked workshop. Risk assessments are updated annually and reviewed before each delivery. The school retains its normal on-site duties, including supervision, safeguarding, emergency procedures and assessment of the venue. Available documents are listed on our risk assessments page or can be requested before the visit.
Insurance
Hyett Education holds £10m public liability insurance; confirmation is included in your booking documents in the secure booking portal.
Data Protection
We handle personal data under our privacy policy and applicable UK data-protection law. The policy explains purposes, retention, recipients and individual rights. Service providers may process data for us under contractual processor terms, and information may be disclosed where the law requires. Photography is used only under the permissions agreed with the school and handled under the same policy.
Equipment Safety
Specialist equipment for the booked activity is inspected and maintained under our procedures and relevant manufacturer guidance, with pre-use checks and damaged items removed from service. Controls specific to the activity are recorded in its risk assessment. The school retains its normal duties for the venue, supervision, safeguarding and emergency procedures.
Evidence Register
Public safeguarding and delivery evidence
This register separates evidence that has been verified and evidence that is available through a public route. Only approved items are shown.
