What STEAM means at Hyett Education

STEAM is STEM with a purposeful creative dimension. At Hyett Education, our explicitly creative STEAM choices are two established workshops: Stop-Motion Animation and 3D Design & CAD Printing. We keep that distinction precise; the rest of our workshop range remains described as STEM.

Two practical ways into STEAM

Choose digital storytelling for Years 1–6, or product design and prototyping for Years 3–7. The exact curriculum links are shown on each workshop.

STEM first, creativity with purpose

What the “A” means in these workshops

The arts add creative thinking, communication and design to the technical learning; they do not replace the STEM content. Pupils make choices, test ideas and refine a creative outcome for a real audience or purpose.

  • Stop-motion: visual storytelling and composition sit alongside Computing and English.
  • 3D CAD: the creative element is design and prototyping; its curriculum links are Design & Technology, Computing and Mathematics.

Direct school feedback

What schools say about these workshops

These quotes come from named-school feedback recorded against the two workshop types shown on this page.

The workshop was great and the children loved it. I cannot praise Jack highly enough, we have lots of external providers come in to do workshops with the kids and his manner and delivery really stand out. Staff were very impressed! The children loved the opportunity to be creative.

Thank you so much for visiting us last week. The workshops have been absolutely fantastic! Our pupils were completely engaged from start to finish, and it was such a joy to see them exploring their creativity through technology. The 3D Design Workshop was pitched perfectly for their age group, clear, accessible, and yet challenging enough to keep everyone motivated. The balance between learning new skills and having the freedom to experiment worked really well.

We had a wonderful session: the children were engaged, the pace was good and the presenter was very interactive.
