Robotics and Coding Sessions

Build robots. Write code. Solve challenges. Our robotics and coding sessions put real technology in your child's hands.

Tech Tigers robotics and coding sessions cover three core activities: LEGO Robotics and Programming, Coding Challenges, and Minecraft Education. Children work with LEGO Spike Essential and Spike Prime robotics kits, block-based and text-based coding tools, and Minecraft Education Edition. Sessions are designed for ages 5 to 12, with activities adapted for different abilities. No prior experience needed.

What Your Child Will Do

Robotics and Coding Activities

LEGO Robotics and Programming

Children build robots using LEGO Spike Essential (ages 5 to 8) or LEGO Spike Prime (ages 8 to 12) kits. They connect motors and sensors, then write programs using drag-and-drop coding blocks to make their robot move, react, and complete challenges. It teaches coding logic, engineering thinking, and problem-solving in a format children find genuinely exciting.

Coding Challenges

Structured programming challenges using age-appropriate tools. Younger children use block-based coding (Scratch-style interfaces) to create animations and simple games. Older children progress to text-based coding, writing programs that solve puzzles and control physical devices. Each session builds on the last, so children develop real fluency.

Minecraft Education

Minecraft Education Edition turns the game children already know into a structured learning tool. Children tackle STEM challenges inside Minecraft worlds: building circuits, coding agents to automate tasks, and solving engineering puzzles. It works because children are already motivated by Minecraft, and the educational layer gives that time genuine purpose.

Age Suitability

Activities are adapted within the 5 to 12 age range. Younger children (5 to 7) use LEGO Spike Essential with larger pieces and simpler programming blocks. Children aged 8 to 12 use LEGO Spike Prime with smaller components and more complex coding. All ages can participate in Minecraft Education and coding challenges.

Equipment

All equipment is provided. Sessions use LEGO Spike Essential and Spike Prime robotics kits, iPads and laptops with coding software, and Minecraft Education licences. Everything is maintained, charged, and ready. Your child does not need to bring anything.

Common Questions

Robotics and Coding FAQs

Does my child need coding experience?+

No. Sessions start from the basics. Children who have never coded before are guided through step by step. Children with experience are given harder challenges to keep them engaged.

What age is robotics suitable for?+

Ages 5 to 12. We use different kit levels: LEGO Spike Essential for younger children and LEGO Spike Prime for ages 8 and above. Both are designed for the relevant age group.

Is Minecraft Education just playing Minecraft?+

No. Minecraft Education Edition includes structured STEM challenges designed by educators. Children complete specific tasks: building circuits, coding commands, solving engineering problems. It uses Minecraft as the platform, but the activities have clear learning objectives.

Can my child attend just the robotics sessions?+

Tech Tigers sessions rotate through different activities each week. Your child will experience robotics, coding, and Minecraft Education across the term, along with other STEM activities. This variety keeps sessions fresh and exposes children to a wide range of skills.
